Press Release - ‘Joy of Wexford’ RTE TV campaign begins 12 th March 2007
The next phase of the ‘Joy of Wexford’ campaign began this week with advertisements on RTE One and RTE Two television. The advertisements will be aired at primetime slots during the Cheltenham Races coverage, the six and nine pm news and other key slots. This follows on from an extensive radio advertising campaign on Today FM in October and November. Launches are also scheduled to take place in the three other commercial centres in County Wexford to ensure that all areas of the county are actively involved and benefit from this promotion.
The Joy of Wexford campaign is actively working to raise awareness of County Wexford as a place to live, work, visit and do business. This is the first cross-sector and countywide venture, conveying what County Wexford has to offer from a business and leisure perspective. A comprehensive communications campaign has been created costing €150,000 per annum for three years. The cost of this campaign is prohibitive for any one sector at present but a collaborative venture between partners in Wexford Chamber, County Wexford Tourism, Local Authorities, the tourism sector, WORD, Fáilte Ireland and the business community will ensure the success of the project.
Several initiatives have been undertaken under the ‘Joy of Wexford’ banner which is actively promoting County Wexford as the ideal business and tourism location. The conference bureau facility established to attract conferences to the area has already facilitated the 1,000 delegates at the Progressive Democrats conference and several other upcoming national conferences. The conference business is invaluable as the spend per person is quite high, it tends to bring people to the county during the off peak season and exposes people to the Wexford ‘product’.
The Joy of Wexford is a joint initiative by Wexford Chamber, County Wexford Tourism and its partner organisations across the country to raise awareness of what County Wexford has to offer business people interested in investment opportunities and visitors or people looking for new employment opportunities. It is the first cross-sector, countywide promotional campaign.
